This
sunset ceremony begins by cleansing your hands, feet,
face and mouth. A prayer and meditation session is
then lead by the pemangku (balinese priest) enhanced
by colourful offerings of fresh fruit, fragrant flowers
and incense to purify the mind and spirit. The pemangku
the ties a piece of white string called 'benang sidatu'
around the offerant's wrist to remind the participant
about the ceremony in the weeks ahead. The string
is worn until it falls off and symbolises one's quest
for balance, harmony and understanding.
